Engine 7 entered
service on February 13, 1906, one week before Engine 6, in a new
station on Whitesboro Street (now home to Engine 1). Engine 7's
first piece of equipment was a 1884 Clapp & Jones 2nd class
2-horse steamer. This steamer was taken from Engine 4 which received
a new "Metropolitan". The steamer is shown below. The
company also received a late 19th century combination chemical and
hose wagon also shown below on the bottom. In 1917 Engine 7 was
introduced to its first motorized piece, a 1917 American LaFrance
combination chemical and hose car. Pictured below is its 1948
American LaFrance 700 series.
